Welcoming Dr. Amy Rapaport, Our New Medical Director

At 1 Natural Way, our mission has always been clear: to improve outcomes for moms and babies by providing trusted support, resources, and access to essential products like insurance-covered breast pumps. That support goes beyond products. Through education and classes in areas such as maternal health, breastfeeding, and nutrition, we help families feel more confident and cared for at every stage of their journey. To advance that mission, we are proud to introduce our new Medical Director, Amy Rapaport, MD, Board Certified in Pediatrics.
Dr. Rapaport brings more than 20 years of pediatric experience, combining hands-on clinical care with a passion for maternal and infant health. She completed her undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University, earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine, and went on to complete her pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center. For over two decades, she served families in a Connecticut pediatric practice before transitioning to digital health with a focus on feeding and eating difficulties.

Why Pediatrics?
Dr. Rapaport was drawn to pediatrics out of a deep desire to make a meaningful difference in children's lives. For her, being a pediatrician means serving as a trusted guide for families, with her professional interests including early childhood development and supporting infants and children with feeding challenges.
Her Approach to Maternal and Infant Care
As a pediatrician, Dr. Rapaport recognizes that feeding decisions are deeply personal. While research confirms the many health benefits of breastfeeding for both babies and mothers, she emphasizes the importance of nonjudgmental support for all families, regardless of their feeding choice.
“Supporting a mother's mental and physical health is of utmost importance. I strongly believe no parent should feel guilty about how they choose to feed, nurture, and bond with their child.”
She has collaborated extensively with lactation consultants and believes access to insurance-covered breast pumps is critical to reducing barriers, empowering families, and helping mothers, especially those returning to work, feel supported.
A Caring, Evidence-Based Philosophy
Dr. Rapaport's approach is rooted in empathy and partnership. She actively listens to families' concerns, validates their experiences, and provides evidence-based guidance tailored to their needs. Her goal is for every expectant mom to feel safe, respected, and empowered in her care.
Her advice for expecting mothers is simple but powerful: be kind to yourself, trust your decisions, and embrace flexibility.
